How to Wear Stripe Pants

Since starting my job, I have noticed I have been missing a key staple that would allow me to wear more of my business appropriate shirts to work: black pants. Despite not having black pants in my wardrobe, I’ve worn the only work appropriate pants I currently have in my wardrobe, which are these Bohemian Traders (BT) stripe pants. One of my new colleagues commented on my pants and how she wanted to buy my pants, but unfortunately BT no longer have these pants in stock. Nevertheless, it gave me an idea for a blog post to find some similar striped pants online. (So this blog post is dedicated to you Mands xx)

I had to drop into my parents place this morning to pick up my car keys which I had left there the night before. 🤦‍♀️ First thing my dad commented on was my Pom pom earrings. 😂😂 he’s not a fan of Pom poms or tassels. But if I didn’t wear them with this outfit, it would have looked a bit boring. Stripe pants for work

I’ve always had a pair of stripe pants in my wardrobe to wear to work since I started working in an office over 16 years ago. Back in those days, Temt and Valley Girl were my key shops to head to. Stripe pants gave my work wardrobe another way to wear pattern with the option of a multitude of block colours to wear on top.

 

 


Here are some of my favourite styles online with all the sizes available. While black and white has the ability to be worn with more tops, the new wide leg pants from Little Party Love should certainly be considered if you prefer a bolder stripe with colour.

 

 

 

Who should wear stripe pants?

Vertical striped pants can suit anyone. To get the best pair that flatters your shape, choose a cut that you feel comfortable in wearing. If the culottes or short length pants make you look stubbier or shorter, opt for a wide, full length pair. If you carry weight on your belly (like I do), opt for a style that doesn’t tie around your middle – or where the tie can be removed so the waist is flat.

Don’t deny a style until you try it. I was going to sell my stripe pants until I started this job and realised how versatile they are. As you can see, I’ve owned these pants for a few year and have worn them to various work events.
