Taking The Stress Out of Buying Distressed Jeans

In autumn and winter, I live in jeans. They are a staple in my wardrobe as a mum. I’m not partial to any brand, just so long as they fit my nicely and keep my tummy in, with no muffin top overhang. Buying distressed jeans has been on my wish-list, but I haven’t been impressed with the price to obtain them.

I have two pairs of jeans that I love to wear which are becoming loose around the waist and butt because I’ve lost some weight in the last month or so. I had been tempted to add to cart a pair of $150 distressed jeans that I’ve had my eyes on for a while.

But.

We’re living to a tight budget. And $150 could be put to better use than a pair of jeans that are ripped and will most likely deteriorate after time because like a ladder in stockings, the rip will run further down the leg.

$150 on distressed, ripped jeans didn’t sit right with me.

So on Tuesday night, I was sitting at my computer and I had the money to buy the jeans, but I just couldn’t click on the checkout.

Instead, I did a search for distressed jeans under $100 and I found similar pairs at Crossroads for $59.95.

They had a 25% off sale, online only.

Problem was I wasn’t sure what size I’d be in at Crossroads.

I went in yesterday and tried a few pairs on and found I can fit snugly in a size 14. Happy Days!

The pair I chose to purchase were only $30. And they feel good to wear.

I guess the meaning behind all this is that if you want really want something, make sure you’re happy to spend the money on it. Sometimes you may be able to find a cheaper alternative.

Buying Distressed Jeans

The ripped details in jeans do tend to rip further. This happened with my black jeans last year from Sussan. They are still wearable, but they are a bit more ‘distressed’.

The sale is still on at Crossroads so if you want to dip your legs into distressed jeans, without it hitting your purse too hard, check them out. Don’t be afraid to do some research and find what you’re after, within budget.

The best thing about these jeans is it won’t matter if I lose more weight and they no longer fit. I’m happy to part with $30 than lose $150.

Have you come across a bargain lately? Are you a fan of the distressed jean look?
